The Wally Cup

Each year Progressive Hockey Development (PHD) hosts at least one Wally Cup Tournament.  This is a 3 on 3 cross-ice tourney that involves 6 skaters plus one goalie per team.  Each team competes in both a round robin portion of the tourney followed by a single elimination playoff round.  The Champion wins the opportunity to skate The Wally Cup!

Benefits of 3 on 3 Cross Ice Hockey

 Proven to be a phenominal development tool, 3 on 3 cross ice promotes:

* More puck touches

* Confined space for faster decision making

* More ice time playing hockey

* More shots on goal

* Non-stop action and playing time, total involvement

It's simply the best way to develop "hockey sense," which is the knowledge of time and space and how to use it effectively, plus knowing two steps ahead of the play what is likely to occur next.

Skate The Cup

Outlast the competition to earn a chance to skate The Wally Cup!

After five, ten-minute 3 on 3 games in the round robin portion of the tourney, the teams are reseeded and they play a single elimination playoff round.

You are guaranteed 6 Wally Cup games based on a full tourney of 6 teams.  To win the Wally Cup, you will need to play at least 7 games and maybe 8!

It's a lot of hockey and a challenge to win the covetted prize!
