PHD Summer Camps Announced

Progressive Hockey Development (PHD) will be holding four summer camps at the new Loudoun Ice Centre.

Headlining these four great player skills camps will be phenominal coaches from professional hockey, junior hockey, and prep school hockey all coming to the DC area to help our kids!

The PHD Camps will start June 18th through 22nd with an Intensity Camp run by Bill Downey of the AHL Lehigh Valley Phantoms.  Bill is a graduate of Penn State Unioversity, where he played on four ACHA National Championship teams and also served as director of hockey operations for the NCAA D-I team.  He also served in a similar capacity with Harvard University.  Bill has also been a big part of Selects Hockey as a coach and skills instructor.

PHD Camps continue June 25th-29th with a second Intensity Camp coached by Larry Cockrell of Governor's Academy.  A prep school coach with over 13 years of experience, Larry is also a graduate and former player for NCAA D-III powerhouse Norwich University in Vermont.  Larry coached Kents Hill School in Maine for ten years before joining Governor's Academy.  He is a Navy veteran and his son plays for NCAA D-I Colgate University.  Coach Cockrell is passionate about skill development.

The next PHD Intensity Camp July 16-20 will focus on defensemen, the most under-coached position in hockey, with a camp run by Ryan Blair of the Boston Junior Rangers.  Ryan played NCAA D-I hockey for UMass-Lowell and then played professional hockey in the minor leagues for several years with teams such as the Reading Royals and Orlando Solar Bears.  Blair is now a head coach for Boston Junior Rangers.  Blair's camp will focus on defensive skills, strategies and tactics.

The final PHD camp of the summer will be July 30-August 3 and will be run by Bill Rivellini, coach of Cardigan Mountain School in New Hampshire.  Bill is a former varsity player and graduate of NCAA D-I Colgate University.  Prior to Colgate, Bill played varsity for Choate School in Connecticut.  Rivellini currently coaches and teaches at Cardigan Mountain School.

This coaching lineup is unmatched in the DC area this summer, so register now as spaces are very limited!
